This is the first public test release of LameFE 3.0. New features include:

The new LameFE 3.0, the first beta will be released on the next weekend, is now ready for Windows Vista. LameFE 3.0 has been rewritten from the scratch and is now easier to use, more stable and even faster then the previous releases, with support for dual core processors and hyperthreading.

LameFE 2.4.0 has been released to replace the two years old lameFE 2.2.x series.
LameFE has been completly reworked. It features a new GUI and a new Plugin system. Among the new features are multi-core/-cpu support, a very complex and powerfull, yet easy to use, filename-setup-system and much more.

The LameFE project is getting back on the road. After over a years break I decided to revive the project . As a first step I moved the homepage to http://lamefe.nauta-clarus.de to be able to offer a working support and discussion forum with email support (as sf.net disabled php-mail :(.... )

LameFE is a CD-Ripper and frontend for LAME, Ogg/Vorbis and APE. Mainly a Bugfixrelease, but I made the "Fully automated batch cd-backup"-Feature available for public testing now. User inserts only the CDs and LameFE rips them, no User interaction required. Can use all CD-Drives in the PC.
Added some Performance settings and optimzed the compilation and code for Speed. On my system I could increase the Ripping and Encoding speed by nearly factor 2.... read more

OK, I know I schouldnt do this in Betas but I see it as a Bugfix: I replaced the old Id3 Tag editor because nearly every click produced a crash... The new one docks at the bottom of the main program window, nice:-)
Other new stuff:
Some bugfixes (freeDB setup works now, Crash on CDExtra, etc.)
Added option to turn Splashscreen off.

The Bugfixrelease for LameFE 2.1 is out.
Comes with some new features and improvements and mostly bugfixes.
Fixed all reported bugs and some unreported one (hope this damned id3tag problem is now solved) There are some incomplete features in this release which are grayed out...
New features are:
- CD-Backupfeature (Rip CD to single file)
- Write Cuesheet for Audio CDs (manually or automaticly with CD-Backup)
- Inavailable menu- and toolbaritems are now grayed out to avoid confusion
- Extended filename setup with more options and identifiers (it's cool :-))
