I use Goldwave for audio editing and on my XP machine, Lame converted .wav files to .mp3 with no problem. I have recently changed to Windows 7, re-installed both Goldwave and Lame on the new machine, and now have conversion problems on voice files. .wav version sounds crystal clear, but when I convert the voice files to .mp3, they sound raspy and scratchy. I have tried multiple sound cards, increased the bit rate in Goldwave, and adjusted every setting I can find, with no improvement. Any ideas?
