-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, LAM 0.5 is finally near alpha level and therefore the translations can soon be updated. There are still about 50 strings which need to be reviewed so you should still wait some time before translation. I will mail you again in about two weeks. The reason for this mail is to find out who of you is still willing to translate LAM and inform you about some changes. Please give me a short reply if you want to translate 0.5 or not. I need this information for organizational reasons. I hope I get a positive reply from you all. ;-) Now what has changed: 1. The number of strings is now 737. About 300 need to be newly translated or updated. 2. However, the most important change is the character encoding. We now use UTF-8 for all languages. The LDAP values come in UTF-8 anyway and now we no longer need to call utf_decode(). It is also possible to show Japanese characters in a French LAM and show a correct language list. The po-files in CVS have all been converted to UTF-8. If you use KBabel it will select UTF-8 automatically, otherwise please set your editor to UTF-8 manually. 3. LAM now sets the character encoding in the HTTP header, too. All browsers should switch to the correct encoding automatically. 4. The make_po_... scripts now call make_po themselves. So you just need to call make_po_..., translate and make_mo.
