Wow - I can play ladder once again, have not done that
since sometime in the mid 1980's - my skills are a bit
rusty now ;-) Amzingly it is still as addictive now as then
I have one suggestion to make the game more plesant
to play - the up/down key should be interpreted as any
key (ie. the lads stops) when not on a ladder. When the
lad is placed at the top of a ladder the up key should
stop the lad as should the down key when the lad is
placed at the bottom of a ladder and the ladder touches
the ground.
That is at least how I remember the game I played.

Agree with this, on my Kapro 10 I stop on the vertical 'spikes' on level 2 (Long Island) by pressing down arrow. This lets you easily jump up to the next level by pressing space and an arrow key. Having to use other keys is not intuitive and requires more fingers.
