This project was not died!
We don't like to use Delphi to develop this application (no multiplatform), and I'm evaluating some alternatives:
"D" programming language (XML libraries are almost missing).
"Free Pascal"
"Java" (I think this is a good candidate)
Bye!
I temporary suspended this project, since I think (after some performance tests) Java could be a slow language to realize this.
So I'm planning to create Laccio using Borland Delphi, even if this means I will loose portability.
However, I will distribute all the source codes.
If someone is interested to this project, please contact me at:
tempmail@email.it
Thank you.
Sorry for delay, but I have not so much time! However, I'm continuing to work!
Sorry, but I have some problems in my life, so I delayed a little bit Laccio updates.
I'm working on it slowly, but I'm working!
Hi all,
I stopped development during these days (sorry!).
I will start again development on January 2005.
Merry Christmass and happy new year!
Please help me. I wish to create some specific categories to make the job of the developers easier. In order to create these categories, using the right items, I ask to everybody if you can run a little java application in your compuer. This little program (JRE is required) will show you some information. Please copy them and send me to my email address (tempmail@email.it).
Thank you for your collaboration. I guarantee to you that these information are reserved, and will be visible only by me.
Ok, here we are again!
* Server-side progress: socket management is almost finished. Now working to create running modules system, and monitoring system.
* Client-side: java Laccio engine (client library) is in development (to make some tests too).
* Now I'm working on communication between Laccio client and server.
bye!
Dear all,
I finished the class to manage Laccio server configuration.
I'm working on server socket listener in order to manage communications between client and server. At the same time, I'm creating the first Laccio Client for Java (in order to perform some tests).
I started to assign some tasks (but I'm the only developer!), calculating time to develop the proper classes, etc...
I almost finished a document about project details. It is either for developers or advanced end users. It contains a practical example (configuration files, mapping tools, complete information flow) how to create a Laccio application.
Laccio server program development is in progress (I'm creating software server and documentation at the same time).
In "Docs" area I published a small document about this project. You can take a look to it in order to understand better "What is Laccio and what can I do with it exactly?"
I'm creating documentation about technical details. I will publish it in "Files" area, in a zipped file.
Hello,
in this week-end I finally created the definitive XML protocol specifications (I hope!). I'm creating a brief documentation to help everyone to understand better project details.
I even started to create some Java classes to manage configurations.
Since I opened this project just now, I wish to highlight what I have already done.
1)Created structure for every XML file (beta-test) needed for core and modules configuration.
2)Communication protocol are http and XML. Libraries will hide to the final developer internal file complexity (but I will supply every detail about this structure).
3)First of all: I will start to develop Java Laccio Server and Java Client Library (all at once, in order to perform some tests).... read more
