No

Go to Dashboard > Your Notebooks and select a notebook (that has a description for best effect), then click Notebook Settings.

Take the cursor to the end of either the Title or the Description and delete a few characters with the backspace key.

The Save Details button stays greyed out. Fail.

The workaround is to add a dummy character either at the end or to the middle of the string. The Save Details button will then become live and you can then remove your dummy character and save.

Irritating but a bug nonetheless.

This happens with IE11. I haven't tried it with Chrome or Firefox yet.

    Same thing happens with Chrome.

Settings page was using onkeypress rather than onkeydown event for checking for changes to notebook title/description. Some browsers will not detect backspace and enter character as a keypress, keydown will.

This has been fixed in r750.

Tim: Please can you close the ticket if you are happy once aurora has updated.

R750 is a bit better. Title and Description can have chars deleted from the end with Backspace and the Save button now goes live.

(I know it's extending the original but...)
If you do a fresh Notebook Settings and this time place the cursor in the middle of the Title string and backspace then the text is deleted and the Save button goes live.
However, if you do the same thing to the Description then the button stays grey (at least on Chrome).

    Or is it just latency?
No, I deleted four chars from the middle of the description and waited 30s. Save still greyed.

Oops, I had changed the title field and what I thought was the description field but actually I had changed the short name field, which is obviously uneditable when editing a notebook's settings. Description should be changed onkeydown as of r751.

I could quibble that the Save button now goes live when the cursor keys are pressed and no change has actually been made. But I won't. Closing.
