#3 selecting files from the list with the keyboard doesn't work

When selecting files from the list for installation,
the selected-file-counter appears to only react to
selections per mouse click, but not per keyboard
(<space>).
It regularly gets into an inconsistent state (showing
negative numbers, for example), causing the
'Install Selected' and other buttons to remain
deactivated.
