#9 Freeze - Loading game icons

kxmame freezes at the splash screen when "Loading game
icons..." appears. When the splash screen is clicked,
it disappears. There is no other output from the
terminal, i.e.:

linj@ibmx31-lin:~/.kxmame$ kxmame
kxmame: Loading gamelist
kxmame: Loaded 5835 games by 683 manufacturers covering
29 years.
kxmame: with 230 games supporting samples.
kxmame: catver not loaded, using default values.
/dev/js0: No such file or directory
kxmame: No Joystick found

When gxmame.ini is edited so that kxmameIconSize=0, the
window does appear but nothing is visible except the
frames and the program is reported as not responding. I
have attempted to delete most, if not all configuration
files, but the problem continues to remain unresolved.

It is unknown how to duplicate this bug.
