#1 Can't find libXext?

When I attempt to run the configure as per your
instructions, I only get to the following
messagebefore I am kicked out of it. configure: error:
We need a working libXext to proceed. Since configure
can't fint it itself, we stop here assuming that make
wouldn't find them either.

I am able to locate the following on the system :
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 and
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6.4 but I am unable to figure
out how to specify either one of them for the
configure to use. What do I need to do?!?
