I built ktexshell 0.4.0 on RedHat 7.1 without incident.
./configure
make
make install
went along cleanly.

the resulting ktexshell, however, crashes immediately,
with the following error:
In file kernel/qpixmap_x11.cpp, line 564: Out of memory
KCrash: crashing.... crashRecursionCounter = 2
KCrash: Application Name = ktexshell path = <unknown>

One other thing to note is that the application icons
(ktexshell.xpm and mini-ktexshell.xpm) that used to be
in the ktexshell-0.2.3 tarball are no longer present in
the ktexshell-0.4.0.tar.gz archive.

My motivation for all of this was to create rpms to
install ktexshell on our local linux machines. I've
got a src.rpm available (but it has the the crashing
problem I describe above):

I just wish to confirm that I have the same bug on Redhat linux

Sorry, I don't have the src.rpm available anymore, as so
much time had passed. If there is interest, I can generate
one again, just let me know (rdieter@unl.edu).
