Hi David, this is alphacentauri from kde-apps.org, you remember? I decided to do a German translation for KTechlab and already start working. To avoid double-work I would like to ask you if someone else is working on this translation yet. If not, I will have some more questions. Regards, Thomas -- sorry for my worse English... |

Hi Thomas, As far as I'm aware, no one else is doing a German translation. So go ahead :) David On Monday 09 January 2006 09:33, Thomas Winkel wrote: > Hi David, > > this is alphacentauri from kde-apps.org, you remember? > I decided to do a German translation for KTechlab and already start > working. I've started two weeks ago. But I'm currently at 10% and there is no time to do it. So translate it. Am Montag, 9. Hi there! please find attached the first German translation. This is my first translation-project and I translated many things without checking the context, thus scale down the expectations. Anyway, more than 3/4 is finished. An option for German symbols (especially the logic ones) would be nice. Rock'n'Roll, Thomas |

Forget the translation I submitted yesterday. This one is much improved and should be suitable for a release now. But please contact the list a few days before, nevertheless. There are some shortcut problems left. Some questions: What about the string 'error_messages_en_gb', will I have to translate this to something like 'error_messages_de_de'? There are some untranslateable strings including the new options in svn, if it helps I can make a list. Rock'n'Roll, Thomas |

Thanks :). I've committed it to svn trunk and the 0.3 branch. On Wednesday 11 January 2006 16:38, Thomas Winkel wrote: > Forget the translation I submitted yesterday. That file is out of date and isn't used. I've removed it for now. > There are some untranslateable strings including the new options in svn, if > it helps I can make a list. Nonlinear (actually, I've changed the category name to "Discrete" - "Nonlinear" was only a temporary name) needs to be added to the POT file by regenerating it and merging with de.po: make -f admin/Makefile.common package-messages msgmerge --no-wrap -q -o de.po de.po ktechlab.pot > - in a FlowCode tab, when selecting a read Port or write port block further > options appear in the toolbar, the "to" is missing. I'm not too sure what to do with this one - the positions of the words are hardcoded between the widgets in the toolbar. Certainly, "to" could be i18n'ed, but this doesn't allow for languages that require other words to be inserted, or the ordering to be different... > - in matrix display: "Row cathode" and "column cathode" > - in 7 segment: "Common anode" and "Common cathode" There isn't an easy fix for them just at the moment. The trouble is that (by a stupid design mistake) the strings "Row cathode", etc are stored in the .circuit save file. So making these strings i18n would mean that circuits designed with ktechlab in one language might not open properly in another language. I'll see if I can fix it tonight. > - "<Enter location of PIC Program>" (there is a string, but it has no > effect) - the file filters in the dialogs file-open and load-PIC-program Fixed. > So, that's all for now :) Thanks |

Ok, this should be fixed now. |

Certainly, "to" could be > i18n'ed, but this doesn't allow for languages that require other words to > be inserted, or the ordering to be different... can't you insert zero-length strings for each case? The "read" and "write" is already translated, and the "to" I would simply translate to "nach". But that's not such importand, everyone should understand it as it is, when it's to much work. > > - "<Enter location of PIC Program>" (there is a string, but it has no > > effect) - the file filters in the dialogs file-open and load-PIC-program The File -> Open filters and "program source" (when selecting a PIC) filters are still missing, File -> Save as works now. Furthermore the file types in the new-file dialog are untranslateable. |

All fixed (I hope...:) On Monday 16 January 2006 20:09, Thomas Winkel wrote: > Am Donnerstag 12 Januar 2006 22:28 schrieb David Saxton: > > make -f admin/Makefile.common package-messages > > msgmerge --no-wrap -q -o de.po de.po ktechlab.pot > > Ups, and I was waiting for a new ktechlab.pot via svn... > > > > - in a FlowCode tab, when selecting a read Port or write port block > > > further options appear in the toolbar, the "to" is missing. > > > > I'm not too sure what to do with this one - the positions of the words > > are hardcoded between the widgets in the toolbar.
