Greetings, I've been looking for ways to subtitle movies without having to reboot to Windows; KSubtile seemed to fit the bill. However, I'm having a serious problem with KSubtile, where it won't load a given movie, with the error message: "The selected movie appears not to be readable by MPlayer!" -- which is, of course, untrue. The movie runs perfectly when fed to MPlayer from the command line. This only happens with certain movies. Some don't load either, but there's no error message. Some will sometimes be loaded alright, and sometimes not. I've found a horrible workaround: 1) ln -s WorkingFile.avi blah.avi 2) Tell KSubtile to load blah.avi 3) rm blah.avi ; ln -s RealFile.avi blah.avi But it's extremely inconvenient. For once, WorkingFile.avi is ~20 minutes long, and KSubtitle won't accept to seek into RealFile.avi further than that time. Do you have any idea what the bug might be? Is a fix in the work? Otherwise, what other subtitling software exists for Linux? Thanks. -- S. |
