shutdown computer does not work
A graphical shutdown utility for Linux and Windows
Brought to you by:
kdt
I use KShutdown 2.0 beta 11 with KDE 4.5.4 (same occured with KDE 4.5.3) under current Archlinux.
The problem is, whenever I select Shutdown Computer / From time within now: XX:YY. And opening another program like VLC to listen/watch something, the timer will decrease to 0 but after the computer wont shutdown. KShutdown remains open and no error message or anything else on the screen....
I hadnt this problem with earlier KShutdown versions.
Any idea or how to get more informations?

Hi,
Can you test whether or not the default
KDE shutdown button (K menu->Leave->Shutdown) works correctly?
Is the Logout function broken, too?
Thanks
I also have this problem (kde 4.6.1 on gentoo for amd64) if I start the timer and then open VLC. If I open VLC and then start the timer kshutdown will still halt the computer. Additionally, halting the computer manually (as suggested above) works fine in either case.
Sorry, I posted too soon. Halting the computer manually (as suggested above) shows the same problem where the computer does not shutdown (but I get a popup notification from kde saying, "Logout canceled by VLC").
