Who can be an admin:
A team leader
The project founder
3 "council members" voted by members every 6 months
What they can do:
Release files and documentation
Post news and edit the website(s)
What they may not do:
Change other admin's priviledges (project founder only)
Change things without permission from originator
If everyone likes these rules, I will implement them. Please feel free to suggest changes.
Perhaps instead of 3 coucil members, you should just give technician status to whomever needs it. A technician can release files and modify tasks and other maintainence things.
All developers and graphic designers already have Release and Task Technician Status.
It might be easier to just have this site be a collaboration area to talk in and have files and stuff be hosted on sites respective to the development team(s).
As long as there's someplace that lists the location of each group's site, in case somebody in a different group needs files (programmers needing graphics, things like that), sounds like a good idea to me.
Thats where the Docs feature comes in
I see these needs:
The Official Developers Site (kreator.sourceforge.net, /projects/kreator)
has its needs posted in Jobs section
The Java DevTeam needs a Webmaster and Members
The C/C++ and VB DevTeam need a Leader, a Webmaster, and Members
The Website/Server Webring DevTeam needs a Mirrors Manager, a Publicity Site Manager, a Server Webring Manager, a Fan Site Manager, and MSN Community Managers
The Graphic Design Team needs Members
Any other needs anyone can think of?
make sure that you get modellers in the graphics design team.
I agree with that. JLC, you want to be in the GDT for 3D Modelling?
Who wants to fill these needs?
Also, about Admin Rules, I'm just going to have this structure:
Each team has their own site to do files and stuff on. When they need to have something on the main Dev site they send it to their team manager with ATTN: To Dev Site and the team manager sends it to me and I will post it. All members are free to post in the forums on the Dev site, link to their stuff in the forums, etc.
Hope everyone is all right with this...post if you want a change.
