You could make these toplevel elements without doing any real harm. They can even have a no-op for publishing. The trick is to make a modified version of StoryLink that will only link to a specific story type. We actually discussed this here a while back, but haven't tried it yet. I do think there might be value in having something that is lower-level than a story, but is not media, and can be reused in multiple stories. That would be a more significant change, and I haven't had a good enough reason to do it yet. - Perrin |
