#83 River Slimes can be bypassed trivially with Run

If you Run from combat against the River Slimes, the "level Boss" of Randen / Brandyn Bridge, the bridge people all react as if you have killed the Slimes. I did not check to see if the bridge actually gets built. What should happen is, it returns to the Status Quo - either with or without the River Slimes.

I went and checked what happens for the Dark Imp, the "level Boss" of Ekla Tunnels. He actually has the Run option disabled. I think this is a crude solution. Clearly the dying guard in the Ekla tunnels has run from the Dark Imp. And the bridge workers have definitely run from the River Slimes. So ideally what happens is, if you Run, the status quo returns - Dark Imp blocking the tunnel, River Slimes still blocking the bridge repairs.

Possibly the penalties for Running are too light. I have only once ever lost anything when running - 28gp. If you lost a carried (not Equipped) item every time you ran, that would be more significant. Though people could game that by loading up on cheap items. Or you could make them lose one of their most valuable items - nasty.

On the other hand, being able to Run was the only thing that saved me from dying of boredom in the Oracle Tower while I was trying to work out the puzzle, and getting attacked every tile I moved on to! :)

    Confirmed that this bug is also present on kq-linuxbin-20080202 version, downloaded from this Sourceforge repository. Also confirmed that after a one day rest in an Inn, the bridge has been repaired and you can cross to the Andra side.
