mplayer has an option "-display <name>" to show the video window on
a different screen than the main screen. This is great in a multihead
setup (e.g. if a video projector is connected to the second video head).
Since kplayer shows the video embedded in the main window it is not
possible to use the -display option of mplayer. A simple way to check
the error message is given:
* start a second X server:
* show a test movie on the second X server:
mplayer -display 1:0 movie.avi
(switching to console 8 shows the movie)
* try the same by providing "-display :1.0" as additional option in
kplayer configuration -- in the log mplayer exits due to a "X11 - Bad
If there was an option to detach the video window from the main
kplayer window, other X screens could be used to show the video.
Another possible solution would be an option to disable the video
output of kplayer and use the standard mplayer video window.
Keep on the good work!
