Enhancement for KPlayer: an OSD feature would be very nice and appreciated.

Most surely I'm not the only one controlling KPlayer with a Remote Control via lirc). So an ODS would bring a great improvement in this case (and not only).

The OSD feature can be customizable in size/location/visibility. As a first, I would like the file name (or maybe the file title, if any, depending on the file type) to be displayed for a number of seconds. Also, the volume, brightness, contrast levels etc, can be displayed when modified. Toggle showing the remaining/elapsed time (preferably when pressing some key combination) would be great.

Great application, by the way! Thanks a lot!

Assigned and changed priority level. This is an enhancement, and thus it should have lower priority (as much as I would like having this new feature asap(!)..)

In Settings/Configure KPlayer in the Advanced section there is an OSD option. Have you tried it? If not, try it and see if it is anything like what you are looking for. It is an MPlayer feature that KPlayer does not use by default.

I've seen the OSD options in the Advanced section and I've studied the mplayer manual a little more so I've seen where those are coming from.
Another thing I've seen is that gmplayer can briefly show the file name being played when pressing the "I" (Shift+i) key. Unfortunately that's not an option of mplayer. :( I was wondering if there's a way of doing this from kplayer (by somehow sending a message to mplayer or by simulating the Shift+i key combination, etc.)
