I have the same issue. It happens when I save and it tries to sync . The syncronization is succeeding otherwise, but the error is annoing and gives the impression that there is a problem. Please look into this! :)

I have made no recent changes to any relevant settings, that I know about, but when I am trying to synchronize the local database with Google Drive, after a while of obvious effort by KeePass (and KP Google Sync?) I get the error "The given path's format is not supported." Can you please help me fix the problem? Thanks!

Hi I'm using Keepass 2.45 and GoogleSync Plugin v. 3.0.1.0. On Mobile Android 11 I use Keepass2Android v. 1.09a-r3. hi~ I just plan to buy a yubikey so migrated from keeweb (win10+android) back into keepass/keepass2Android (win10/android). I install google drive backup&sync and thus the file is put inside the sync-ed folder. Works OK for me but someone suggest using this plugin as it can sync at the ENTRY level. Thank you so much for the work that you have done. I was wondering if the "fix" had been implemented. I had just finished updating someone's KeePass and the Sync Plugin, and I was unable to sync using the OAuth 2.1 credentials. Google returned an insecure browser denial. Re-reading my post I maybe should clarify steps 4 & 5. After the sync, save the database (I don't think it does this for you), then upload the database file to Drive, not the file you downloaded. Also, the phone app might not be cooperative. I have some experience with Keepass2Android. It has a "file handling" setting that checks for "external modifications" before saving its copy of the database. The default setting is "enabled", but that may not be the case elsewhere. I did it. Installed Kee Anywhere on lap top. Ran test from phone. Was successful. Ran test from laptop. Was successful. No more manual syncing it seems, it is instantaneous! Thanks for this thread. I just donated to KeePass and KeeAnywhere!

Having hear nothing from developer, I am in search of another App. I will look at keeAnywhere. So far I haven't found it. This sux. I hate to have to change, but I think you all are right, people move on and we have been forgotten. Thansk for all the input.

Hey, thanks for this. I too was stuck on the 2.45 not authroizing. I even rolled back to 2.44 which HAD been working and it will not autorize again. I switched to KeeAnywhere and it works a treat. I have 3 PCs setup with it now and it seems to be working OK. Nice to have a quick handy solution. GoogleSync hasn't been updated since 2016. People get busy and move on to other things, I think it's a dead project.

I understand this has been a problem. I didn't see it until I looked for a PW that I knew I had entered on my laptop, but did not appear on my phone. So I sync'ed my phone which proceeded without error. No new pasword. So I went to laptop and tried to sync (Keepass 2.45, Google Sync Plugin 3.0.1) and I got an authorization error that I have never received before. The mru fix has to be done, and the in-memory sync file idea is great. I'm not sure of the value of the temp file since it is at best a duplicate of the remote, and if it could be the cause of a sync failure you probably don't want to mess with it anyway. There are other good suggestions in the discussion feed that I am going to make a list of. KeePass seems to add every file (IOConnectionInfo), even the ones that are synchronized or imported. I somehow like the idea of seeing a to be synced temp file IF the sync failed. I personally am not interested in these files if the sync was successful. My fix is a quick'n' dirty fix. Another option might be to download the file but instead of saving it to disk reading into into memory and then do the sync. This would essentially require to copy and adjust the standard ImportUtil.Synchronize method...

Nice, thanks, I did not notice that issue! I considered the temp file stuff messy, so I changed it to use the Windows temp file mechanics, but they still show up in the MRU. I don't consider the temp file to be a "feature" but rather a side effect. Do you think the old temp file mech is useful otherwise?

While I hope that your changes are merged, I'm afraid this repository is abandoned. If you decide to make your fork available to the public, would you mind adding one more option which is about handling the MRU list? The temporary file downloaded by the plugin will be shown in the MRU list and I personally prefer to see only files that I opened explicitly. I suggest adding the option to hide these two buttons from the dropdown menu (Tools > Google Sync Plugin > ...) because it can cause you trouble accidentally clicking on those when you instead wanted to upload your database to Google Drive. Thank you

I applied the REG fixes with no success I disabled IE in windows components. I still get the greyed out allow / deny boxes for authentication. I will not be able to disable IE permanently in any working solution as it is part of my base build for the office. Any suggestions or guidance much appreciated!

Hi there, Just wanted to share my solution, a lot of the comments here actually helped me come up with the solution to this issue, however it wasnt the individual solutions but rather a combination of solutions that helped me fix this issue as the Google login doesnt work properly in the IE window. I am running Windows 10 enterprise with the current version of keepass and googledrive sync I installed the plugin to the program files plugin directory I set up an entry in keepass with my account and APP password with accounts.google.com as the URL. When I go to sync the database, it prompts for authentication and then gives me a screen to allow or deny access BUT the allow and deny buttons are greyed out: [image: image.png] Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I'm finishing up some modifications to my fork of the current release. Nothing has been pushed to SF yet, but hopefully soon. In the meantime, attached is a taste of the modified sign-in UX. Basically, the .NET embedded browser control is replaced by the Windows system browser based sign-in. The KeePass pop-up window simply waits for you to authenticate/authorize in the browser.

Hi! After updating to KeePass 2.44, my Google Sync Plugin stopped syncing and, when asking to download from Google Drive, it prompted me to login again into my account. After doing so, it showed an error message saying my browser was not safe and it couldn't complete the authorization. I tried regenerating an OAuth 2.0 certificate but it kept showing the same error message. I found some possible fixes here in the forums: disabling Internet Explorer 11 and changing/adding keys to the Windows Registry....

Okay so trying to move forward on my own. I created a Google Drive Sheets file and put the Shareable Link into the OAuth configuration. This now allowed me to submit for verification :-) I set the scope to - ../auth/drive.file but I am unsure as to how to link Keepass to the appropriate password database, any guidance as to how to limit only to the keepass password files? I think my issue at this point is defining the OAuth consent screen. Two items that I do not know how to define because it requires an active web page to be configured are: A homepage URL is required for publishing. A privacy policy URL is required for publishing. I got it to work by comparing some registry settings. I have no idea what this means, so please don't mess up your registry. I added a DWORD 32-bit Key named Keepass.exe with Hex value 2af8 to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION.

I've recently turned on 2FA with my google account by going to https://landing.google.com/advancedprotection/ and using hardware security keys to secure the account. It seems that because the authentication dialogue that the plugin displays uses IE under the hood - the response to the Yubikey never gets sent to google - and so the plugin has now stopped working for me. Is there anyway to get the auth dialogue to use either firefox or chrome instead?

gents the help file says "You can use the compiled version of the Plugin instead of the .plgx file which creates temporary files on the host system." To which part is the "temporary files" state referring? The plugin leaves temp files or the compiled version leaves temp files??
