I've built a site for a charity and they want to adopt a free editor so that several staff can be equipped to update the site. I'd planned, after some research, on using Kompozer but have encountered an apparently intractable problem.

The site makes a lot of use of server side includes, including for the text content which the charity staff will edit. But every time I update such an include using Kompozer it places the code withing standard HTML tags, such as <HTML> <HEAD> and <BODY>. This is a big problem, because the file being edited is an include and those tags exist in the parent document.

Do you know any way to stop Kompozer from introducing these tags?
