Only one instance has occured...
I opened a page from my site and added the url of an audio file .mp3 to an iframe.
When I clicked the "Publish" button, KomPozer added an additional extension to the file name .mp3.htm
Of course the audio would not play.

Work-Around:
File>Publish-as and type in the path

When I copy the version from "about" I get =
