    Hi,

Can you give me some details about your system
(distribution, KDE/Qt version) and how you compiled koctave?

    Thanks

Koctave works very well on my Notebook (Intel Centrino), but
on the Notbook of my girlfriend (Intel Core Duo) I am unable
    to start Koctave.

Both Notebooks have the same installation (Ubuntu Dapper Drake).

The Core Duo Processor handles threads in another way than a
Centrino. Maybe there can be a thread synchronization problem?

    That interesting.
Maybe there is a general problem with threads on dual core
systems. I have to check this on my dual core systems.

It seems to be a dependency problem. Now I have installed
the kde base packets and koctave is running fine. Im
wondering why the kde base packet is not a packet dependency
    for koctave.

    Hi,

    I have some questions.
What package did you installed? I don't remember to offer a
    binary package.
If you compiled it yourself : how did you compiled it
    without kdebase?

    Thanks

I have installed the package via synaptic and kdebase was
    not marked as dependency.

    Your using debian, right?
I have to find who is responsible for this binary package.
Just let me know what distribution you have.

    Thanks.

You are right. kdebase is not a dependency of this koctave package.
    ( check out http://packages.ubuntulinux.org/dapper/math/koctave )
I have filled out a bug report on Ubuntu lauchpad.
