#89 counts for annotations wrong after merge annotations

If you merge annotations into a project, the annotation counts are not correctly updated - i.e. look at the annotation schema tree and notice that the numbers are not correct and the newly added annotations are not in the context menus available for selection. Everything seems to be resolved if you save, close, and reopen the project.
