below are some edit suggestions to clarify a step.
the line in "quotes" is from the documentation.
the line that follows is my suggestion.

location and what 'select' (single or double click?) means need to be clarified:
"6. select the filter labeled "Jane's annotations""

Result: A new dialog appears.

it's not clear how to do these two similar steps properly.
"7. select all 10 instances of "file line text source""

To do this, first select "File line text source (10) from the left pane titled "Allowed Classes".
Result: a list of 10 IDs appears in the right-hand panel titled "Direct Instances".
Next, select all 10 instances by clicking the first ID (10364) and, while holding down the shift-key, clicking the final ID (1139).
Result: all 10 instances are highlighted.
Now click 'ok'.
Result: if you move through the annotations using the 'next-annotation' icon in the text source collection menu <graphic>? each text has highlighted annotations.
