Hi all, I have been working past two weeks with the port of NoTA Device Interconnect Protocol (DIP) to Linux kernel. Now the version 0.1 is ready. The purpose of this port is to create an optimized version of the NoTA DIP for Linux kernel and maintain compatibility with reference implementation that is available from http://www.notaworld.org. The Linux is one of the main environments for applications of NoTA and thus very efficient port of NoTA DIP is useful. The work is now just started and only local connections are supported. I will be working with the project every now and then but of course anybody is free to contribute to the project's missing parts. Next big thing is to create L_IN up layer and some L_IN up layer. Features in release 0.1 * Local loopback registration & connecting to services * Sending & receiving data * select() call support The project mailing list is available at sourceforge: http://lists.sourceforge.net/mailman/listinfo/knota-devel The project source code is available from gitorious: http://gitorious.org/knota -- Mikko Hurskainen, Notava Inc |
