Hi!
I very much like knokiisync and used it to merge and sync
my address book(s).
[As I have about 300 contacts in KAddressbook this was a
quite long and difficult task. ;-) ]
At some point I realized that my phone is not ringing any
more when some people called. I inspected the phonebook
entries and when I came over the 'caller groups' section I
found there (different value for every person) to be about
150-250 callergroups (when you move one entry up in the
listview the number of entries appears on the right side of
the phone) which all had no name (there is a selectable
entry but no text). I think the phone wanted to look for the
caller-group settings and could not read/parse them and
therefor simply did not ring.
Even worse: when leaving the 'caller groups' menu the
phone did not respond in a propper way anymore: I had to
switch it off and on again... (Now, we have to reboot our
phones as well...?!? ;-)
I think the problem is that I do not have the same names
for caller groups and categories (which actually would be
impossible for me as I have about 25 categories in
kaddressbook). Maybe its a good idea to implement some
kind of mapping (kab: companyA, companyB, companyC,...
-> Phone: Business)
[And -- just a suggestion: an options dialog where I can
choose what fields to sync as I frequently use the
'comments' field in kab for some kind of contact log where I
note all meetings and stuff... (which is information I
defenitely do not want to have on my phone!)]
best regards and many thanks for your excellent work!
