It appears once Kneobase is installed, which was very easy to do, if you issue the command to manually restart Tomcat, Kneobase creates the following directory from wherever you issue the commands from.

"C:\tomcat-4.1.30\webapps\axis-minimal\WEB-INF\attachments"

This path is specified in the server-config.wsdd file under the WEB-INF directory in the war file. (version 1_3_final)

Changing the above path to a relative one and fixing the slashes for a *nix environment only makes the directories correct. They still show up wherever the restart command for Tomcat is issued. For instance if I issue the command in my home directory, they show up there.

I am running:

Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Server
Tomcat 6.0.14
Java 1.5.0_13

- why there a hardcoded path?
- why is Tomcat 4 specified?
- why is "C:\" windows path specified in the war file??

I can delete the directories, and Kneobase appears to still function, and generally looks like a good search app. But this behavior doesn't install confidence...
