Since my 2/27 use of update manager with Ubuntu 9.10, I can't read my stored Kmoney (.kmy) files, so as of this writing, I have no bookkeeping record access. Can anyone help and has this happened to anyone else?

I'd last saved my account file (.kmy) 2/20. On 2/27, it wouldn't open. The error message said the file couldn't be read. I'd saved it in multiple locations, and none of the files, which are of identical size, will open. I'd updated the system (latest Ubuntu) between 2/20 and 2/27

  • What is the output of 'file your-data-file'? Did you use GPG-encryption to store the data? Which version of KMyMoney are you using?

HI, Got the same on Mandriva 2010.0 with KmyMoney 3.96.1
Console messages stop at "reading transaction" at the 1st opening from a KDE3 version 1.0.2
    no encryption

  • Were you able to solve it?
Can you start kmymoney with -n, uncheck everything on the Home settings, and then try to load the file?

  • Is this still happening or solved with the stable release?
