announcement yesterday for a new Qt-based scientific modeling and plotting 
library. The URL is

It seems to be free for non-commercial use.

I prefer kmatplot ;-)
The display is better.
In addition, I'm always afraid of "free for non-commercial" terms, this often 
means "non free when we will be satisfied of our product".
Think GPL!
