    Hi,
recently I sent a message to the author of dp500serv but just now I've read the project is stopped. So perhaps kma can listen me :)
    Here it goes:
    ---
I am a happy and satisfied user of your dp500 server. In fact I would like to contribute some code
but just  nowadays I don't have free time. Well, just a bit to see half-a-movie from time to time.

And that's the motivation of this mail. I should watch movies in two times (or more) and I always
should remember when I stopped watching it to make a time-search next time I resume the movie.

I was thinking about a feature to make dp500 remember the position of unfinished movies. I suppose
kiss guys are not so nice as to send to the server the STOP command, but perhaps dp500 can track the
current time position until the end of the movie is reached. If the user stop the movie he can
resume it later from the last recorded time-position. I suppose is easy to add a new option in dp500
menu to browse the saved marks and start playing from the recorded byte count (or seconds, I don't
have a clue about video playing).

Sorry for my poor explanation. If you can read spanish I can explain myself better.

Thanks for your time and I will looking forward for CVS updates ;)

PS: BTW counts on me if you need betatesters, I am fluent on Linux and can perform any kind of
testing, currently running a gentoo distro on a Dell laptop (just in case you have some distro/hw
    matrix compatibility)
    ---

    thanks

I know what you mean, I've been thinking about it as well. But the problem here is quite big.. simply sending other data wont do because the kiss exspect things like headers tobe send as well. I'll try todo some testing with this later on, maybe I can trick the KiSS, but normally this aint possible.

But I suppose you know which exact headers to send.
So when an unfinished movie is selected in the new menu you can begin the movie as normal, sending the headers and stuff, and then, as you know it's a not-finished movie, you can jump to the time stamp?

I was just thinking aloud, I don't have idea of how it works. Perhaps when the kma becomes truly modular I would read some source before think.

      </w>
