I agree with this but I can not fix that problem myself. What I can propose is that if the Mediawiki has a page called "Mediawiki:Offline_Main_Page" available, then I will use it instead of the standard online one.

We are now able to use a custom page a default welcome page. So would you be able to create that custom page for offline snapshots on the Wikipedia in Hebrew?

At first, I thought about something like Google HomePage style, just replacing the Logo..
But, it's not yet clear to me enough how things going to work.
Do we need to have a Kiwix logo in homepage, or a Wikipedia logo?
If I want to install some of Wikis: Wikipedia, Wikivoyage, Wikibooks, Wikisource etc, Do we need to have seperated Kiwix softwares installed for each one, or all of Wikis will be installed into 1 Kiwix software, and all would be displayed in Kiwix Homepage, letting us to choose which Wiki we want to serch.

Kiwix as nothing to do with the content, so no logo. We have one ZIM file per content (wikipedia, wikivoyage, ...) and one home page per ZIM file. How things are then packaged with Kiwix is an other question.
So here it's only about replacing the ZIM homepage which is the standard Wikipedia home page by a customly created home page.

Please open one ticket per problem otherwise this is too chaotic.
1 - Have a look to this similar ticket https://sourceforge.net/p/kiwix/feature-requests/818/
2 - yes, but you "don't have", it "might be nicer". So, you can also do a good one for Wikipedia, this would be an improvment and allow us to close that ticket.

Of course, but it's not our (Kiwix) decision. We do not do (as far as possible) any editorial decision. This is the work of the community of users of the ZIM files, in collaboration with the Wikipedia community to take that decision and configure he.wikipedia.org in the way they think it's the right one.

We now have the first attempt to create a Kiwix HomePage (Draft).
Is there a way we can test those attempts, so that we can get a Preview to see how it will be looked like in kiwix?

Hi,
There is a problem. I download and run
kiwix-0.9+wikipedia_he_all_2015-10
As written above there is a "Updated on: Date" part.
I found the Date is not up to date for some reason, it shows 06/08/2015.
In the Online page the Date is updated OK.
Please fix it.

I still don't understand, why the crawl doesn't read this page as other pages? If we want to add/change this page shouldn't it be updated like other pages?

I'm not sure. Do you have a sample in other language (English)?
It's really up to you (and the WPHE community). Here is an example for Wikivoyage: https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Wikivoyage:Offline_reader_Expedition/Home_page
At first, I thought about something like Google HomePage style, just replacing the Logo..

I will inform and we'll discuss this topic in the Hebrew Wikipedia.
Thank You.

1 - I thought it might be important to decide if "Portals" will be included in HomePage...
Of course, but it's not our (Kiwix) decision. We do not do (as far as possible) any editorial decision. This is the work of the community of users of the ZIM files, in collaboration with the Wikipedia community to take that decision and configure he.wikipedia.org in the way they think it's the right one.
I already posted a discussion about it in he.wikipedia.org
We now have the first attempt to create a Kiwix HomePage (Draft).
Is there a way we can test those attempts, so that we can get a Preview to see how it will be looked like in kiwix?
Good. There is no way to really test it easily. Just do it right and then I will configure the snapshot process to use it.
Now you can understand why I asked you about the "Portals". "Portals" are significant part on the Wikipedia homepage. Now I wonder what is left to put on the homepage.
Done.
Here is the offline Homepage for Hebrew Wikipedia:
ויקיפדיה:עמוד ראשי/לא-מקוון
Structure of page:
Dear Stanimail
Thank you for the nice welcome page. I have configured the dump process with this custom page: https://sourceforge.net/p/kiwix/other/ci/bb8e696e5f2c8915ef4f6185597af8487a1fdf91/
This should be visible in next ZIM file of WPHE, in September.
Regards
Emmanuel
Hi,
There is a problem. I download and run
kiwix-0.9+wikipedia_he_all_2015-10
As written above there is a "Updated on: Date" part.
I found the Date is not up to date for some reason, it shows 06/08/2015.
In the Online page the Date is updated OK.
Please fix it.
That's exactly the date of last modification: https://he.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%D7%95%D7%99%D7%A7%D7%99%D7%A4%D7%93%D7%99%D7%94:%D7%A2%D7%9E%D7%95%D7%93_%D7%A8%D7%90%D7%A9%D7%99/%D7%9C%D7%90-%D7%9E%D7%A7%D7%95%D7%95%D7%9F&action=history
I don't understand. We do not care about the date of last modification.
We made this Date for the crawl of Kiwix to read this Date as the Date of buildnig the ZIM, updated Date like this:
https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%95%D7%99%D7%A7%D7%99%D7%A4%D7%93%D7%99%D7%94:%D7%A2%D7%9E%D7%95%D7%93_%D7%A8%D7%90%D7%A9%D7%99/%D7%9C%D7%90-%D7%9E%D7%A7%D7%95%D7%95%D7%9F
Is it possible to fix?

This is a feature, not a bug. The date of ZIM file is written in the library/bookstore.
I still don't understand, why the crawl doesn't read this page as other pages? If we want to add/change this page shouldn't it be updated like other pages?
yes, the ZIM file always takes the last version.
