Kiltdown 0.8.045 has been released. This version adds some new ui whizzies and the ability to compact folders, which actually seems to help performance in a number of cases (File.Folder.Compact (All)).
The reworking of the network code continues apace (read: slowly) due to numerous distractions in my life, but I do hope to get it checked in asap ... Should be a LOT of good new stuff in that, and probably will bit a bit less stable for the first coupla weeks :-)... read more
I've added some more UI whizziness to this release, redone an bunch of the dialogs, and added (OPTIONAL) support for KDE. You can optionally tell the configure script to look for KDE libs and headers, which actually gives the program a nicer look on KDE2 systems ... It is by no means, however, required.
Next up: Another rework of the network and parsing code. I'm going to add support for IMAP, and hope to have that online in a week or so. Once that gets pretty stable and a few UI dialogs get going, we'll be ready for 0.9 !!!!... read more
I'm calling the latest release, 0.8.001, a beta release of kiltdown. I've got some basic address book functionaity online now, and things are generally quite stable -- I've been using it for most of my email accounts for a few months now.
I will now work towards adding the few remaining major features (filtering, security, and launching of attachments better), and will work on improving all the existing stuff. ... read more
