The first beta of 2.0 will soon be released, it will be available to everyone, however it will not support upgrading from old versions until the second beta or possibly the final release.
I am also working on PostgreSQL support, and expect to have this available by October.
During the beta period of 2.0, the 1.x codebase will still be supported by me, from the final release of 2.0, the 1.x codebase will no longer be supported, all bug reports, feature requests or e-mails regarding 1.x will be ignored.
Version 1.8.2 of the code was released today, this version includes full support for upgrading from 1.6 and 1.7 versions of the killboard.
If you are upgrading do not upload the config.php file to your server, as the old one is fine.
Please report any bugs using the tracker, or by e-mail to g.a.wilson at ncl.ac.uk
I have finally managed to find the time to release a test version of 1.8, it is basically feature complete, and has had a fair amount of testing. However it is only considered a test version, as it can't currently be installed as an upgrade to an existing install of the killboard. It can only be used as a fresh install, this would mean losing all of your existing killboard data. A version supporting upgrades should be available in the next week or so.
You can now donate to the killboard.co.uk project, donated funds will be used to help pay for the server I used to test the killboard as well as encourage me to continue active development of the project. Even though I now accept donations the project will always be free, I am a believer in open source software, and will never charge for the code. All donations are greatly appreciated.
Now that Red Moon Rising support is out of the door, I have had more time to work on new features and the killboard in general. The next release will not be for a while, as I plan to spend extra time on development and testing. You can see the progress of the new version by visiting www.killboard.co.uk, this site always run the bleeding edge code. Some things I’ve fixed already including display of the final blow in the mail display, as well as improvements to the layouts of kill lists and mail details.... read more
Today sees the release of version 1.7 of the killboard.co.uk code, this version dubbed Red Moon Rising edition provides full support for Red Moon Rising killmails and ships, other changes include support for drone kills, and out of game killmail posting.
The first version of the killboard.co.uk code has just been released under the GPL license, I hope that people find the code useful and am looking forward to any contributions that people submit to the project, please be aware that this release it primarily for people to see the parsing code of the killboard, as the installation scripts are not included so you will not be able to set up the code to work on your own server, unless you spend a while figuring out the database structure, however I can assure you that the installation script will be published in the near future so everyone can start using the code on their own servers.
