A public beta of 2.0 will be released on Friday 1st September 2006, this version should work pretty much perfectly, however it will NOT support upgrading from 1.x code.
The first official 2.0 version will be released on Friday 8th September, baring any show stopping bugs in the beta, this will support upgrades.
Following this, on Friday 15th September a beta of 2.0 with PostgreSQL support will be released, with the final release of this to follow sometime in October (extended beta period because its a whole new database interface)
From the 8th September 2006, I will be removing 1.x versions from SourceForge.net and will no longer be offering any form of support for them.
The feature set for 2.0 is now finalized, so any feature requests after this post will be marked for 2.1 or future (yes admin is in, and yes alliance support is in already :)

Work is progressing pretty well, I’m going to be spend quite a bit of extra time on the code over the next few days to try and make the beta as good as possible.
The HTML/CSS of the beta may not be exactly to everyone’s liking, work is ongoing to polish up the code, but it may not be complete for beta time, besides I want to try and encourage people to build their own layouts, that is why I have focused on eliminating as much SQL work as possible.
There are no kill points in the beta, and they probably won’t be in the final build either, I’m still deciding if I should use the custom ships table, or just merge ship data into using the eve data.
I have also discovered that there is a graphics table exported from eve, meaning the item images can just be dumped into the folder now, no need to try and rename things, I should of looked for this before :))
In short: Release date is still 1st September for the beta.

Geoff,
No progress for a long time. What's up with the project? Still waiting for the layouts?
