The Qt version required is 3.1.x or higher. Mind you, KDE depends on various other libraries, I can't give you an exhaustive list, but here are some: http://developer.kde.org/build/compile_kde3_1.html Since you're an ordinary user to have to install KDE in $HOME/.kde. I recommend installing Qt in $HOME/.qt (install Qt before KDE!). Then configure KDE using: ./configure --prefix=$HOME/.kde --with-qt-dir=$HOME/.qt Depending on your system compiling KDE can be easy or hell. If your system has gcc installed (GNU Compiler Collection), it will be relatively painless. However prepare to compile/installe more libraries. If you manage to set up a working KDE, compiling Kile will be trivial :-) best, Jeroen -- Kile - KDE Integrated LaTeX Editor http://kile.sourceforge.net |
