Dear Kile list, This is my first time trying to install Kile. I'm on fedora core 2, and I followed the directions about checking what the kde prefix was and so on. The make command executes for a while and then bombs out with the following message: make[2]: Entering directory `/home/vincent/downloads/kile-1.6.3/kile' /bin/sh ../libtool --silent --mode=link --tag=CXX g++ -Wnon-virtual-dtor -Wno-long-long -Wundef -ansi -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -Wcast-align -Wconversion -Wchar-subscripts -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -Wwrite-strings -O2 -Wformat-security -Wmissing-format-attribute -fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -fno-common -DQT_CLEAN_NAMESPACE -DQT_NO_ASCII_CAST -DQT_NO_STL -DQT_NO_COMPAT -DQT_NO_TRANSLATION -o kile -L/usr/X11R6/lib -L/usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib -L/usr/lib -R /usr/lib -R /usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib -R /usr/X11R6/lib newfilewizard.o managetemplatesdialog.o templates.o commandprocess.o metapostview.o refdialog.o addoptiondialog.o usermenudialog.o kileconfigdialog.o texkonsolewidget.o tabdialog.o tabbingdialog.o symbolview.o structdialog.o quickdocumentdialog.o messagewidget.o letterdialog.o l2hdialog.o kmultiverttabbar.o kilefileselect.o kileapplication.o kileappIface_skel.o docpart.o arraydialog.o kile.o main.o kileactions.o kilestdactions.o kileinfo.o kiledocumentinfo.o kileproject.o kileprojectdlgs.o kileprojectview.o kilelistselector.o bibtexdialog.o kilelyxserver.o usertooldialog.o ./gfe/libgfe.a -lkdeprint -lktexteditor -lkspell -lkhtml /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lselinux Any ideas about how to fix this? Sure, but only because you're not the first to have this problem. The solution is to install FC2 from scratch, apparently updating from FC1 to FC2 does go very well. Thank you very much for your speedy response, Jeroen. In the meantime I was searching on the web, and found this fix, which worked for me: ln -s /lib/libselinux.so.1 /lib/libselinux.so Now Kile compiles and starts up (great to have a latex editor!) I also saw that this bug is reported (twice) on bugzilla, but this fix is not listed in either report, instead they found that installing a libselinux-devel rpm works around the problem. Thanks again, Vincent Jeroen Wijnhout wrote: >On Tuesday 24 August 2004 15:01, Vincent Sacksteder wrote: > > >>Dear Kile list, >> This is my first time trying to install Kile.
