Hello, I would like to know, when there will be a SuSE 9 rpm-package of the newest Kile version (at present, there is a dead link on your website). I compiled the source-code, but some submenues do not work, and I can't find the project part. I would love to work with the project feature. Dirk |

With me I got some warnings that there was a conflict with old-kile. When you run kile you will just have the old-toolbars, menus, icons, etc. Copying of the rc-file did not work in my case. I solved this by first removing old-kile and then installing the new version (I used the CVS version, but I guess the same applies for the source tarball). Make sure that for SUSE 9.0 you use: ./configure --prefix=3D/opt/kde3 (I can't make any statements about other SUSE versions, since I have never used them. I have the new kile succesfully running on both SUSE 9.0 and Debian (testing). Oh. and if you have some time I suggest upgrading to KDE 3.2. It is a bit of a hassle on SUSE 9.0 (or at least was for me), but it rocks! Hope this helps, Martijn |

It's available from their FTP=20 site: ftp://ftp.leo.org/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.0/applicatio= ns Replace 9.0 by the appropriate version number, of course. But next time, if there is no package provided by=20 SUSE, I will gladly make one. Regards, =2D-=20 Thibaut Cousin Web : http://www.thibaut-cousin.net |

If you=20 install it with --nodeps, Kile will probably refuse to start with a=20 message like "Undefined symbol". I'm sorry, I can't make a package for KDE 3.1, as I no longer have=20 that version on my computer. But rebuilding the package for your=20 version of KDE is fairly easy. If you want to do that, I can provide=20 you with the necessary instructions. KDE 3.2 is available for download at the same address as Kile. Of=20 course if you want to upgrade and need help for that, you only have to=20 ask. :-) Regards, =2D-=20 Thibaut Cousin Web : http://www.thibaut-cousin.net |

There are some instructions at: kile.sourceforge.net/contact= =2Ephp The minimum requirement for Kile is KDE 3.1.x, so, in principle you shoul= d be=20 able to install Kile. best, Jeroen --=20 Kile - KDE Integrated LaTeX Environment http://kile.sourceforge.net |
