This is just a little note to let everybody know what the upcoming releases
will contain. Feel free to comment.
Although the website talks about 1.6.2 being the next (non-bug-fix) release, I
think this release will be named 1.7. There are a few reasons. First of all
it allows a few more bugfix releases before the current CVS version becomes
stable. Second, the current CVS version contains already so many new exciting
features that it deserves at least a minor version number upgrade.
Features for 1.7 (with the general motto: make Kile smarter!):
o Complete rewrite of the code that takes care of launching tools.
All tools can be configured in a detailed way. Quickbuild commands can be
defined as one wishes. In the Project Options dialog one can even choose
to use an alternative (user-defined or pre-defined) configuration for the
Quickbuild tool. So one can have 'LaTeX+ViewDVI' for normal documents, but
'LaTeX+BibTeX+LaTeX+LaTeX+ViewDVI` for a project for example.
The configuration dialogs are a bit of a mess, so I would like to have some
feedback on this.
o Detailed error summary: the line-number, file and error description are
printed to the Log/Messages screen, allowing a quick overview of the
