Hi Ciaran,
To be clear, once you've installed macports you will want to install the package kde4-kile NOT the kile package (kde3 version). It will take a while as macports will have to download/install all the dependancies. I can report that it works really well on the mac! regards,

To use Kile on Mac, you'll have to use MacPorts and install the "port" for
Kile:

  http://www.macports.org/

Note, however, that Mac support is still experimental.
