    Hi!

I'm looking for a Kile as a replacement for LyX since it can sue utf-8 (my default) encoding enabling me to enter accented characters (I use English, Croatian & Sanskrit diacritics).

However, for international users, makeindex is not an option, so I'm interested if there is any plan to add support for xindy indexing package or is it just a question of adding a new tool under Build menu?

    Anyone uses xindy with Kile?

    Sincerely,
    Gour

      Hi,

I don't know xindy, but you can edit the MakeIndex tool in Settings->Configure Kile->Build->MakeIndex. Change the name of the tool to be executed and perhaps the options passed to it. Everything should work after that.

      best,
      Jeroen

      Hi
xindy works for me on kile
go to the xindy homepage and download
the version for the latex companion.
install it and it runs out of the box.
I put the texindy command in the quick build
with the -L danish option, here you can select your language.
texindy -L croatian what ever, see the companion (2nd edition) for reference.

      scincerily
      Christoph
