I've recently started using v1.7.2. It seems like everytime I just launch the application that I get excessive CPU usage and the system basically freezes up. Any idea what might be causing this?

    Hi,

Which version of Java are you using?

This is known issue (Swing related) for the Open JDK, and (afaik) for some version of the Sun JDK...

    thanks

Looks like Java 6 update 31, is there a preferred version?

I would expect that version to be fine, although I'm not able to check it at the moment. Just to be sure you are running that version, what do you see when you run:

    java -version

    from the command prompt?

Also, are you using all of the jars that came with the 1.7.2 download, and not mixing them with older jars?

    C:\Documents and Settings\dvint>java -version
    java version "1.6.0_31"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_31-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode, sharing)

I just launch the kernow.exe file, how do I find out what jars are being used?
