There have been a number of reports on the forums over the last few months where someone has gone into their KeePass database to change the keyfile. When they have done so, they have mistakenly selected the current database as the keyfile. Not surprisingly, as soon as they close their database down after the change, they find that their database is no longer accessible.

A nice addition to KeePass I think would be if the program would disallow selecting the currently open database as a keyfile for that same database.

KeePass 1.25/2.21 and higher show an error message when the user accidentally attempts to use a database file as key file.

    Thanks and best regards,
