Hi, I have KeePass 1.23 installed on my D:\ hard drive (the C:\ drive has only Windows 7 and a couple of other programs on it, and I try to keep it as "lean" as possible.)
I want to install the update to KeePass v. 1.25. But after I downloaded KP 1.25.EXE and tried to install it, the setup gave no choice where it would be installed-- only on the Programs (x86) folder of the C:\ drive.
I don't recall how I installed v. 1.23 on the D:\ drive a few months ago when the computer was new. And I don't understand why I cannot install 1.25 there now.
Is there a way install the .EXE package on the D:\ drive rather than the C:\?
Or should I just install the .ZIP version?
Correct, install the portable version (.zip) of KeePass.
I don't know what you downloaded, but the only official installer for KeePass 1.25 is 'KeePass-1.25-Setup.exe', available from http://keepass.info/download.html .
This installer does support installing to any directory you wish. Here's a screenshot of the dialog where you can choose the installation path:
Note that if you previously installed KeePass 1.23 onto C:\ and now run the 1.25 setup, the setup automatically chooses the C:\ location as destination for the upgrade, without the possibility to change the path. If you want to change the path, first uninstall KeePass 1.23 and then run the 1.25 setup.
