To Copy a Password from the KeePass View, select (highlight) an entry then:

    • double click on the password, or
    • press Ctrl-C, or
    • right click on the entry and select "Copy Password"

You cannot Paste in the View. You must open the Entry for editing (e.g. select an entry the press Enter).

If you prefer a different editing style try one of third-party KeePass plugins such as KeePassEnhancedEntryView or KeePassEnchancedListView.

Thank you wellread1 for the assistance. The problem is that when I right-click on the password, it is grayed out and does not respond to the efforts to copy. User name, however, is not grayed out and does respond. I will examine the plugins you mention but would prefer to simply right click and do the copy and paste dance.

Based on your parallel post in a thread related to Linux I assume you are running KeePass on Mono in Linux. Mono is generally the root of most unexpected copy and paste problems. I assume you will need to explore solutions in that thread.
