Dear devs, dear users,
is there a way to sort the entries and ignore the grouping at the same moment, i.e. sort the whole database independently of the groups? I use grouping of entries. But when I sort the entries, there are as many sorted lists as groups. And so, searching for the unique top in the sort column is not straightforward. The switch at Edit > "Show Entries of Subgroups" is not useful in this case: it switches off the groups totally, or forces grouping when sorting. Is there any workaround, please?
Do you thing, that I should just switch to tagging instead?
it seems that I am not the only one requesting the feature above:
Here is a couple of recent support requests, which either directly or indirectly asks for showing all entries while ignoring any grouping:
problem: find recent changed entries
suggested solution: sync the databases
caveats: the final database contains the recent entry, but which was it?
solution with "ignore group sort": sort both databases based on date and compare the first entries
problem: find duplicates in entries/password
suggested solution: none
solution with "ignore group sort": sort both databases based on password/entry name and compare visually
Thank you for listening. With hope to have this implemented soon,
I've now added a 'View' -> 'Grouping in Entry List' menu.
Here's the latest development snapshot for testing:
Thanks and best regards,
Superb! Thank you!
