    Hello,

KeePass 2.25 will improve the editing/viewing support for entry attachments that the built-in editor/viewer cannot handle (e.g. PDF files). These files will be extracted to a (EFS-encrypted) temporary file and opened using the default application for this file type. After finishing viewing/editing, the user can choose between importing or discarding any changes made to the temporary file. In any case, KeePass afterwards securely deletes the temporary file (including overwriting it).

The most appropriate opening method is chosen automatically (e.g. TXT files are opened using the built-in editor, JPG files are opened using the built-in viewer, and PDF files are opened using an external application).

Here's the latest development snapshot for testing:

If you encounter any unexpected behavior, please let me know!

    Thanks and best regards,
    Dominik

New: on Windows Vista and higher, the button in the entry editing dialog to open attachments is now a split button; the drop-down menu allows to choose between the built-in viewer, the built-in editor and an external application.
