#1239 Auto-lock plays badly with laptop+external monitor when undocking laptop

Neil Walker

I have KeePass 2.25 (at time of writing; will soon verify with 2.26) running on Windows 7. I have enabled the four 'Lock workspace when ...' options in the Security Options screen, and the 'Close button minimizes main window instead of terminating the application' interface option.

I have a laptop with an external monitor connected to its docking station. With the laptop connected to the docking station, I put the KeePass window on the second monitor. If I then close the main window, it correctly minimizes to the Windows start bar.

I then later undock my laptop, thus removing the second monitor.

When I then come to use KeePass (still with laptop undocked), it correctly opens the password prompt dialog in the middle of the laptop's (only) display but reopens the main window off-screen (presumably in the same position it was when I closed it, on the external display). Even when I enter the password, the main window remains off-screen.

(And the 'Close .. instead of terminate' option makes it very hard indeed to recover the main window)

The only way I've found to bring the main window back on screen is to enter the passphrase and then press Alt-Space and select Move from the Windows menu.

100% reproducible.

For the record, just reproduced with KeePass 2.26.
