KeePass 2.24 on Windows 7 x64
Interface Options enabled:
[v] Close button [X] minimizes main window instead of terminating the application
[v] Minimize to tray instead of taskbar

KeeFox 1.2.7 is installed in Firefox. When it detects that the database is locked it provides a button to open KeePass and open a database. After the database is opened successfully the main KeePass window is left open but the (red) Close button [X] of the window is non-functional, nothing happens when I click on it. I have to use the Minimize button instead to send KeePass back to the systray.

And another related problem: even if I have the following option enabled:
[v] Minimize main window after opening a database
The main window still does not get minimized if it was opened by KeeFox. I thought this was going to be a workaround for the issue above, but it does not seem to work either. The main KP window is simply moved under the Firefox window instead of getting minimized to the system tray.

This is not a KeePass bug, it's a KeeFox issue. Please report it to the KeeFox developer.

    cheers, Paul

As I cannot reproduce these issues with KeePass alone (i.e. without KeeFox), I agree with Paul that this has to be solved in KeeFox.

    Best regards,

Is it a known KeeFox issue? Could you please provide a hint what they are doing wrong? From what I can tell it simply calls KeeFox to open and prompt to open the database.

Why is it not a bug that another app can cause KeePass to get into this state where it cannot be minimized to the system tray via the close button? I think KeePass should be robust and not allow this.

The plugin system has been designed to limit plugins as few as possible, in order to allow powerful plugins of all kinds. KeePass cannot protect against everything that plugins can do.

If there's anything that I can do in KeePass to prevent this issue, I'd happily do it.

    Best regards,
    Dominik

OK thanks for clarifying. So it's the plugin doing it.
