If I have keepass set to autoload at windows login, on windows 7, my computer will sit at the "preparing your updates" or somesuch forever. I've allowed it in excess of 14 hours more than once, on more than one windows patch day. BUT, if I disable keepass auto-loading on windows startup, via ccleaner's tools section(see piriform.com and I use the portable build), update runs perfectly normally, and I can login within an acceptable time, usually a few minutes max. My computer isn't exactly slow, Lenovo ideapad z560(i5 2.66-2.83ghz, 8GB ram, 500GB sata II hdd). I always run latest drivers. I have disabled or uninstalled most of the bloatware that came with this computer, tho none of those made a difference on updates. The only thing that makes a difference on windows updates is whether I have keepass load at startup. I can run keepass post login after updates with no problems. Any help appreciated.

I've tested this on multiple systems, but couldn't reproduce the issue. Also, I cannot imagine how KeePass could interfere with Windows updates, because Windows prepares updates before KeePass is started.

    Best regards
