At some point my database seems to have been jumbled. A lot of my entries in the fields URL and Notes have been shifted around so they no longer are under the correct entry. I'm not sure what to do about this but thought you should know.

It is not possible for entries to become jumbled unless you have exported and imported your passwords. Did you do this?

    cheers, Paul

I'll keep this here if that's okay. If keepass jumbles entries during import/export that's a bug right?

As for this database, I haven't exported it for ages looks like last time was about February 2011. I just keep the file in dropbox and open it from there, so I have no reason to export it.

    I cannot reproduce this.

If you find a way how to reproduce it, please reopen this report, provide all required files (e.g. a sample database file, the files to be imported, etc.) and detailed steps what you are doing.

    Thanks and best regards
    Dominik

I know this is closed, and I know it's a couple of years old, but I thought I'd go on record that Duncan wasn't the only one this happened to. I've been cleaning up for years from a garbling which took place as a result of an export -> import event. I don't plan to make any effort to reproduce the problem (I'm no longer using 1.x), and I don't expect you to do anything about the bug (if I did I would help create a repro case), but I'm reasonably confident that I didn't do anything to the export which would have introduced the jumbling of the entries. The corruption consisted mostly of the values from the URL and/or Notes field from one entry ending up duplicated in dozens of other entries scattered throughout the database. I don't see any evidence of such corruption with entries which have been added since I switched to 2.x (and probably since the export / import event).

I'm still supporting KeePass 1.x. If you find a way to reproduce the issue, I very happily will have a look at it.

    Best regards,
    Dominik

Thanks for the info Bob. I saw the same with URLs and Notes being duplicated to multiple entries (overwriting those parts of the entry).

I decided this might be because of KeyPassDroid which is an Android application. I stopped using it to write to the database and haven't seen growth in this problem. Like Bob I've been cleaning up after this problem for years now...

Bob, have you ever used KeePassDroid?

I do use KeyPassDroid, but I've always used it as a read-only window on the database, and the problems appeared before I started using KPD.
